In latest version of Skype, since no log off notifications are displayed, sometimes it might be an annoying situation when you expect a person to remain online and the person goes offline without any notification. Likewise, if you are not notified whenever a user logs on to the Skype account, you might never be able to know when a person is available for communication. This might happen when you are logged on to Skype but are doing something else while keeping the Skype window minimized.
As discussed above, by default Skype always displays a notification every time a user in your contact list signs in to the Skype. However situations might differ, i.e. you might not be notified about this if the settings have been tampered.

- ■Log on to the computer using appropriate account credentials.
■Initialize Skype using the account credentials of the profile on which the modifications are to be made.
■On the opened interface, go to Tools > Options.
■On the opened Skype Options box, from the left pane, click to select Notifications category.
■From the expanded list, ensure that Notification settings option is selected.
■From the right pane check the comes online checkbox to re-enable the notifications.
■In order to enable the log off notifications, check the goes offline checkbox as well.
■Once done, click the Save button to save the changes.
■Finally click the Close button to close the Skype Options box.
■Restart Skype to allow the changes to take effect.
